A member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, Lillian Sparks Robinson has worked in Washington, D.C. for nearly 20 years, devoting her career to supporting the educational pursuits of Native American students, protecting the rights of indigenous people, and empowering tribal communities.  In 2010, Lillian was appointed by President Obama, and confirmed by the U.S.

The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) is a non-profit organization committed to significantly increasing Indigenous representation among science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education programs and career paths all across North America. This people group, due to many extenuating factors, has historically been on the outside looking in when it comes to STEM initiatives.

The newly chartered American Indian Academy of Denver (AIAD) and the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) successfully held an afterschool computer science event on August 26 at the Denver Indian Center. 

As the summer heat swells in Las Vegas, BMM Testlabs AISES Internship has begun again with two new AISES members being welcomed into the program. 

The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) began in 1977 with a vision for the next seven generations of Native people to be successful, respected, influential, and contributing members of our vast and ever-changing global community. The success of Native people is not solely represented by one organization, group, or society, but through the support of each other, we see that success.

STEM is here. STEM is evolving. STEM is the future. The AISES Leadership Summit is focused on honing strategies to enable science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) professionals and emerging leaders in STEM fields to think proactively about their goals. This annual gathering focuses on the core competencies and capacities of individuals. It stimulates participants to think about their responsibilities and the impact of their work and studies on the global STEM community. It enables participants to stop, think, and plot their incredible life journey, and it supports them as they process the lessons and opportunities they come away with.

In December 2018, AISES program officers hosted a workshop with close to thirty middle-school children from the Coyote Valley Band of Pomo Indians reservation located in northern California.
